59 -- LOW EARTH ORBITER AUTONOMOUS GROUND TERMINALS (LEO-T) SOL RFP5-49735/605 DUE 013096 POC Caroline R. Massey, Contracting Officer, (804) 824-1959, FAX (804) 824-2157. Fully automated, autonomously operating ground terminals to support low earth orbiting spacecraft. The spacecraft altitude will generally be less than 1000 kilometers. The basic system shall support downlink telemetry reception, real time data extraction and forwarding, capture, archiving, and post pass data forwarding. The downlink telemetry support shall be in the 2200 through 2300 MHz band with options for reception in the 8000 through 8500 MHz band. The optional uplink command is to be provided in the 2025 through 2120 MHz band. This option shall support real time throughput commanding and store and forward modes of operation. The Government plans to purchase a minimum quantity of two (2) and a maximum quantity of ten (10) basic 5 meter antenna systems over a five (5) year period including varying minimum and maximum quantities of the following system options: uplink capability; compatibility equipment; spare equipment; user terminals; subcarrier demodulation; 3 meter antenna; and x-band capability. Complete system specifications will be issued with the RFP. The first two systems will be delivered to Wallops Island, VA and Poker Flat Research Range in Alaska (respectively). The remaining systems will be delivered to remote locations worldwide. Delivery within 12 months after placement of orders. All responsible sources may submit an offer of which will be considered.
