Henninger, Contracting Officer, (303) 236-5900 x335 Concerns having the ability to furnish Landsat and/or India Satellite Data described herein are requested to give written notification (including the telephone number for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of this synopsis. Salient characteristics: Landsat Satellite Data with the following characteristics: 1) Thematic Mapper (TM) data measuring reflected sunlight (bands 1 through 5 and 7) having a ground resolution of 30 meters by 30 meters. 2) Spectral response in micrometers as follows: band 1(.45 to .53); band 2(.52 to .60); band 3(.63 to .69); band 4(.76 to .90); band 5(1.55 to 1.75); and band 7(2.08 to 2.35). 3) Fully processed for radiometric and geometric corrections. 4) Sub-sampled swath data. 5) Acquisition programming for worldwide satellite coverage. India Satellite Data with the following salient characteristics: Linear Imaging Self Scanning (LISS) data; Panchromatic data with 10 meter resolution; Wide Field Sensor (WifS) data; acquisition programming for worldwide satellite coverage. Intent is to award a basic contract with four, one year, options. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(c) Application for Brand Name Acquisitions, the Government considers the item specified as a brand name item and proposes to negotiate a contract only with firms who can provide Landsat and/or India satellite data. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required item or its functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further consderation. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of this procurement. See Note 22. (0258)
