The work to be performed under this project involves the installation of approximately 6,000 linear feet of water main, associated piping, the installation of valves, and other work associated with the installation of a water main at the Whitney Young Job Corps Center located in Simpsonville, Kentucky. The work includes connection to all buildings located on the Job Corps Center to the water main and a tap into the municipal water main. In addition, fire hydrants will be installed at various locations on the center. Miscellaneous demolition and earthwork are involved, and repair work and landscaping will be required. Construction time is scheduled for 168 calendar days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range for construction is between $250,000 to $500,000. Plans and specifications will be available on Oct 2, 1995, from the office of Potter and Cox Architects, Suite 800, Meidinger Tower, Louisville, Kentucky 40202. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-through is scheduled for October 18, 1995, at 10:00 a.m. local time.
