The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has a requirement for the purchase of a Muller Martini 1509 Minuteman Saddle Stitcher or Equal. The proposed Saddle Stitcher shall meet the following minimum salient characteristics: Shall have a maximum speed of 8,000 cycles per hour; shall have a minimum and maximum trim size of 3-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches and 9-3/8 inches by 13-3/4 inches, respectively; shall have six (6) feeder pockets with the capability of adding additional feeder pockets at a later date; shall have waist-high loading from the front while facing the feeder; shall have one chain extension unit; shall have one in-line cover folder feeder; shall have in-line quick adjustable stitching heads to ensure precise stitching; shall have in-line three-knife trimmer capable of handling up to 3/8-inch maximum book thickness; shall have a belt delivery system; and shall have double and missing signature detectors. The resultant contract shall require the Contractor to provide adequate on-site training for six (6) FBI employees. The FBI requires trade-in for a Model MGD McCain Six Pocket Saddle Stitcher. The resultant Contractor shall provide inside delivery to the FBI's Print Shop inside Room 1B973 at the FBI J. Edgar Hoover Building, Washington, D. C. All uncrating, placement, anchoring, removal of crating material, and the removal of the trade-in equipment shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Delivery and installation shall be provided within 30 days of contract award.
