Two bellows pericup portion of a female urinary incontinence system
(FUIS) to be used as the female interface for use with NASA's current
Urine Collection Device (UCD). The new device shall provide for urine
collection, volume measurement, sampling from female crew members in a
microgravity environment for medical experiments requiring urine data.
All responsible sources may submit a proposal that will be
considered_by the agency. --1000 two bellows pericup portion of the
FUIS device. --All deliverables shall be shipped to NASA, Johnson Space
Center in Houston, Texas. --22. The proposed action is for supplies or
services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate
with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. --A comprehensive
search was performed on potential suppliers of this device listed in
the 1994 Medical Device Register, and no other company was located that
had a device that can serve this function. Hollister, Inc. holds United
States Patent Number 4,889,532 on the Female Urinary Incontinence
Device with Forwardly-Directed Discharge Passage and Support Surface
Portions. The device has been evaluated on the KC-135 to simulate use
in a microgravity environment, and is the only device available
