J -- HARDWARE/SOFTWARE SUPPORT FOR AN INTEL PARAGON SUPER COMPUTER SOL NRMGM000507064 DUE 093095 POC Jacqueline Wright, (303) 497-5282 The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Forecast Systems Laboratory (FSL) has a requirement for an on-site Parallel Systems Engineer (PSE) and hardware/software support for an Intel Paragon Super Computer. FSL provides the National Weather Service (NWS) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with meteorological support to aid in the preparation of short term weather forecasts. Weather models are developed on an Intel Paragon Super Computer. Due to the rarefied nature of this computer, only Intel can provide the support needed. This is not a formal solicitation. Intel Corporation, Beaverton, OR is considered to be the only know qualified source and it is the intent of the Government to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. - 253(c)(1).
