This requirement is for engineering services and technical support for strategic and tactical submarine communications programs, interfacing communication systems, associated subsystems, and related support systems and equipment deployed in, or to be deployed in submarine platforms, on surface platforms in support of submarine communications, in aircraft providing support for submarine communications, and at shore sites supporting submarine communications. Programs to be supported include: VERDIN VLF'LF family; TRIDENT Integrated Radio Room; SSN Radio Room; SSBN Radio Room; Standard Radio Room for Submarines; Submarine Message Buffer (SMB) and the Frequency and Time Distribution System (FTDS); Submarine external communications systems including submarine communications antennas, Submarine Integrated Antenna Systems; Subsystems of the Fixed Submarine Broadcast Systems such as the Integrated Submarine Broadcast Processing System (ISABPS), ISABPS Phased Improvement Program (PIP), Improved Emergency Action Transmission system (IEMATS), Remote ISABPS Terminal (RIT); TACAMO Message Processing Systems (TMPS), MILSTAR Message Processing Systems (MMPS), and Special Communications subsystems, Circuit Mayflower and Clarinet Merlin. The period of performance is estimated at a base period of one year with four one year option periods. The contractor must have a security clearance at the level of secret. This effort will consist of appoximately 542,845 labor hours within the following labor categories: Staff Scientist; Sr. Mgmt Specialist; Sr. Comm. Sys Engineer, Mgmt Specialist, Systems Analyst; Comm. Sys Engineer; Logistics; Technical Writer; Illustrator/Drafter; Cm/DM Specialist; Sr. Sys Analyst; Administrative Assistant; Lead Engineer; Acq.
