The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) DEMOLITION incl: All architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical items with the Central Heating Plant interior space including but not limited to: coal- fired HTW generators and all associated auxiliaries, stoker grates, ductwork, breeching, induced draft fans, forced draft fans, ash hoppers, ash piping, temporary wood scaffolding, gas train, valves, HTW circulating pumps, piping, electrical equipment, control room equipment, roof-mounted up-blast exhaust fans, non-friable ACM floor tile, and miscellaneous appurtenances, baghouse and stack, exterior coal handling conveyors, coal weighing scales, rail car house, and miscellaneous items. NEW WORK incl: Central Heating Plant interior space renovation including but not limited to: (3) 45,000 MBH gas-fired HTW generators and ancillary equipment, piping, pumps, stacks and breechings, Lift station and underground electrical service. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $2,500,000 and $5,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 630 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a October 11, 1995. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the responsibility of the requestor).
