Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) invites participation from
established industrial concerns for the manufacture, test and delivery
of one (of four) 28.061 MHz radio frequency cavity with the
approximate dimensions of 35 inches outside diameter, 85 inches long.
The cavity shall be manufactured from 1020 carbon steel with final
copper plating. Manufacturing processes include precision machining,
welding, vacuum leak checking, frequency tuning and copper plating.
Companies which will be considered as participants must have the
capability of testing and tuning the cavity. Request for quotation for
the acquisition of the subject RF Accelerating Cavity is currently
scheduled to take place on or before November, 1995. This announcement
is not a request for proposals and any costs incurred by industry for
participation in this program shall be borne by participants. If you
wish to participate as an offeror in this procurement, please write to

will not be acepted. This notice is not intended to be a formal request
for a proposal, but a notice of an upcoming procurement activity to
seek the interest of qualified industrial companies to participate in
this procurement. Participation in this procurement is open to
qualified industrial organizations which have related technical
experience in the manufacture and test of High Power Radio Frequency
structures and who are interested in participating as a contractor to
BNL. Sales representatives and brokers will not be allowed to
participate. If you wish to become a qualified participant please
provide with your letter of request a corporate profile regarding your
company and/or subcontractors and substantiating technical information
regarding your past experience in precision machining, welding, vacuum
leak checking, frequency tuning and copper plating. Any company that
does not provide the requested information shall not receive a copy of
this solicitation. Request for a copy of this solicitation must be in
writing and received within fourteen (14) calendar days after
