CAVITIES POC Contact Point, Larry Smith, (516)282-5796 Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) invites participation from established industrial concerns for the manufacture, test and delivery of one (of four) 28.061 MHz radio frequency cavity with the approximate dimensions of 35 inches outside diameter, 85 inches long. The cavity shall be manufactured from 1020 carbon steel with final copper plating. Manufacturing processes include precision machining, welding, vacuum leak checking, frequency tuning and copper plating. Companies which will be considered as participants must have the capability of testing and tuning the cavity. Request for quotation for the acquisition of the subject RF Accelerating Cavity is currently scheduled to take place on or before November, 1995. This announcement is not a request for proposals and any costs incurred by industry for participation in this program shall be borne by participants.
