407-867-7869. EG&G Florida, Inc., in support of NASA at the Kennedy
Space Center, is seeking sources to provide two (2) each high pressure
water/abrasive blasting systems, one fixed and one mobile, for the
purpose of cleaning and surface preparation of various substrates prior
to the application of protective coatings. Both systems shall utilize
a stand-alone water pre-filter system in addition to a minimum
two-stage water filtering system located on the equipment. Both systems
shall come equipped with two guns as follows: 1) Pneumatic
rotating-manner head gun rotating at minimum 2000 rpm capable of
delivering water to the nozzle exit at a minimum rate of 1470 feet per
socond at 15,000 PSI, 2) Abrasive control gun with a 15 degree nozzle
that incorporates the use of a 20 - 80 PSI pressurized-type media feed
line, rather than a siphon method or vacuum-type feed line system, that
is capable of delivering a dry abrasive a minimum of 100 feet to a
maximum distance of 300 feet from the attached media hopper to the exit
on the fan-type gun at a minimum rate of 1320 feet per second. The
fixed system shall be powered by a minimum 25 HP electric motor, TEFC,
utilizing a minimum 1.5 cu/ft ASME pressure vessel. The mobile system
shall be powered by a diesel engine with a minimum of 40 HP utilizing
a minimum 3.5 cu/ft ASME pressure vessel and a minimum 30 SCFM @ 125
PSI air compression. The mobile unit shall be mounted on a tow-along
trailer not to exceed 7,000 lbs., one axel, with all inherent safety
features included. Interested suppliers are invited to submit data
packages for evaluation. These data packages shall include technical
data, drawings, equipment options, operator training availability and
on-site setup. Also, list equipment accessories and price for water
recycle system, if available. Address warranty provisions and
