D -- CONVERSION EFFORT TO REPLACE WANG IMAGING SOFTWARE IN TECHNICAL REFERENCE DIVISION (TRD) SOL DTNH22-95-Q-04126 DUE 112095 POC Contact Eva Freeman, 202-366-9569, Contracting Officer, Janice B. Flemming, 202-366-9564. This requirement is to have a contractor develop a conversion effort to replace WANG Imaging Software in TRD. The TRD of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has an existing imaging system resident on a Wang VS 5000. This system runs Wang's PACE database and WIIS imaging software. The TRD users are currently running a sophisticated imaging and database application on this system. A new computer environment has been installed for imaging and text retrieval. The new environment is comprised of HP UNIX RISC machines running Informix database, Plexus/DOX imaging software and ConQuest text retrieval software. This environment will implement true client/server processing and provide imaging and text retrieval capabilities outside of TRD. The contractor shall complete the development and implementation of the final version of the current application; address current issues; and perform modification currently desired by the users. Migrate the current database into an Informix database. Migrate the current application into the Informix/Plexus environment. Design full text/imaging integration application. Develop full text/imaging integration application. Implement full text/imaging integration application. A fixed price simplified purchase order is contemplated. The estimated period of performance for this effort is five (5) months. The RFQ will be mailed only to those organizations who submit written request to the announcement.
