COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 27,1995 PSA#1440NASA PROCUREMENT INFORMATION IS NOW AVAILABLE OVER THE INTERNET Under
NASA's MidRange Pilot Test Program approved by the Office of Federal
Procurement Policy on April 16, 1993, NASA established an on-line
procurement system. This system makes procurement information from all
NASA field installations accessible over the Internet. MidRange is a
streamlining initiative for acquisitions between the small purchase
threshold and $500,000. Effective October 1, the upper threshold will
be increased to $1,000,000. Originally, only MidRange procurement
notices and solicitations were available in electronic form for viewing
and downloading. Now, the Internet service has expanded to include many
non-MidRange acquisitions. NASA will be posting all synopses and
solicitations over $25,000 by October 1, 1995. Effective October 1,
1995, the Internet will be the only source of NASA synopses and
solicitations for business opportunities within the MidRange dollar
threshold. The NASA procurement documents reside on a world-wide web
(WWW) server, which may be accessed using Internet browsers, such as,
MOSAIC. All NASA procurement sites are linked from the NASA Procurement
Home Page at the following Uniform Resource Locator (URL), or
``Internet address'': ``http://procure.msfc.nasa.gov/nasaproc.html''.
