COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF SEPTEMBER 27,1995 PSA#1440SANDIA NATIONAL LABORATORIES HAS DEVELOPED THE FOLLOWING TWO
INVENTIONS: 1. Carbon Supercapacitor Electrode Materials: A method is
disclosed for preparing carbon materials useful as electrodes in
supercapacitors that have: a continuous, porus structure whose density
can be adjusted; an adjustable surface area of at least 500 m2/g; high
electrical conductivity; high charge storage characteristics;
sufficient mechanical strength such that robust thin samples can be
prepared, and; the ability to be fabricated to near-net-shape. 2. High
Surface Area, High Permeability Monolithic Carbon: A method is
disclosed to develop a high surface area carbon in the form of a porous
monolith that enables new applications. Its potential applications
include electrodes for supercapacitors that store electrical energy
and, application for processing of liquids and gases with improved
separation efficiency with reduced contamination of the process stream.
This is not a solicitation. Parties interested in obtaining more
details about either or both of these inventions and/or in licensing
these inventions, are invited to submit a letter of interest providing
information about the company, area of potential applications of the
technologies, and a point of contact. Letters should be sent to: Joanne
