(505) 665-0154 The University of California, which operates the Los
Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the Department of
Energy, solicits interest from companies wishing to license, develop
and market a unique all-solid state fluorescence cryocooler. Los Alamos
Solid State Fluorescence Cryocooler operates below 77K. The cooling
powers can be on the order of one (1) watt for this rugged, low-mass,
long-life system. This new technology is based on anti-Stokes
fluorescence and utilizes specially designed optical materials pumped
by diode lasers. Near term applications include cryogenic detector
systems for space and ground based applications and high-Tc RF filters.
Future possibilities include high-Tc computers, defense applications,
and low temperature operation at temperatures below 1 K. Organizations
interested in obtaining a commercial license to manufacture, use, and
sell must possess existing capabilities in manufacturing, marketing
and support services in the domestic marketplace: These organizations
must respond with a statement of intent describing the organization's
technical expertise, manufacturing and marketing capabilities,
financial resources (e.g., annual report or corporate resume) and
motivation for participating in this program. The statement must be
dated within 30 calendar days of the date of this notice. (265) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0008 19950927\A-0008.SOL)
