Swartzman, (716)396-3625 Requirements of OMB Circular A-76 VAMC, Canandaigua, NY, is seeking inquiries from commercial sources interested in providing: 1. Laundry services for approx. 2,100,000 annual pounds of mixed hospital linens, bedspreads, bibs, bed pads, patient clothing, employee uniforms, isolation linen, socks, wet mops, dry mops, draperies and certain specialty items. Contractor is required to collect data and maintain records as required for use in daily linen weight records, daily piece counts, linen dying and the preparation of other reports. 2. Chemicals and formulas SED will be subject to approval by VA. Contractor to furnish certificate of IFI or NAILM membership with IFI or NAILM testing on a regular, or as-required basis. 3. Laundry to comply with all JCAH requirements including positive/negative air flow from clean to soiled area and to VA sanitation standards in handling and transportation of clean and soiled linens. Laundry must have a staph barrier wall separating soiled from clean linen. Area contractor facilities will be subject to a formal VA inspection prior to award. For purposes of inventory control, it will be required that processing of linen be accomplished by a single laundry service. 4. Contractor must comply with all federal, state and local laws pertaining to the processing and transportation of soiled and contaminated hospital linen. Should a formal sol be issued bidders may furnish bids based on government-owned, contractor-operated (GOCO) and/or contractor owned, contractor operated (COCO). Synopsis published to determine availability of commercial laundry service for laundry requirements of VAMC, Canandaigua, NY. Formal sol for services may be issued in the event of 2 or more responsible qualified GOCO, and/or COCO firms respond affirmatively to this notice within 30 days of its appearance. Sol will be subject to government cost comparison to determine economic feasibility of accomplishment of specified work in house or by contract. Contract award will depend upon outcome of cost comparison. This synopsis is the first of 3 notices issued to identify commercial sources interested in providing this service.
