The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to convert a three-story building with partial basement into a 74-cell special housing unit that will house administrative detention and disciplinary segregation inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix West, Fort Dix, New Jersey. The scope of work will include selective demolition and the removal, handling, and disposal of non-friable floor tile and floor tile mastic. All related work must be completed within 549 calendar days after issuance of the official notice to proceed. The estimated magnitude of this project is $1,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. This will be firm fixed-price contract. Solicitation documents will be available on or about October 26, 1995 from the Architect/Engineering firm of Kishor Y. Joshi, A.I.A., 142 Schibanoff Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 with an anticipated bid opening date of November 27, 1995. A written request and a non-refundable fee of $185.00 per set should be sent to Kishor Y. Joshi, A.I.A. by October 20, 1995 to ensure a timely receipt of documents. Fee must be paid by either certified check, cashiers check, or money order. Plans will be available to view at no charge at the Federal Correctional Institution, Building 5744 Doughboy Loop, Fort Dix, NJ. A site visit and pre-bid conference is tentatively scheduled for November 14, 1995.
