Foley, GP22C/Contracting Officer This notice constitutes a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Submersible Heater Elements to be used in the Space Station Furnace Facility's Experiment Module Simulator for heating water flowing through the simulator to verify the heater controls of the Space Station Furnace Facility -- Item 1 -- Watlow Model No. SPH14GMM or equivalent screw plug immersion heaters with 2.5 inch NPT threads, NEMA 1 Housing, a total immersion length no longer than 9 inches, a thermowell for insertion of a thermocouple, and a 316 stainless steel sheath -- There shall be dual elements in the flange, one 0.5 ohm 1/-5% element, and one 2.0 ohm +/- 5% in the other element -- Each element is required to dissipate up to 400 watts, and operate at 40 VDC maximum -- Quantity 110 ea -- Item 2 -- Watlow Model No. SPH 15GCM or equivalent screw plug immersion heaters with 2.5 inch NPT threads, NEMA 1 housing, a total immersion length no longer than 9 inches, a thermowell for insertion of a thermocouple, and a stainless steel sheath -- There shall be one element in the flange with a resistance of 1.20 ohm +/-5% -- The element will be required to dissipate up to 1 kilowatt, and operate at 120 VDC maximum -- Quantity 16 -- Delivery to MSFC (FOB Destination) is required within 30 days -- This notice serves as the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued -- This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) -- If other than the brand name identified is quoted, then the quoter shall indicate the manufacturer, brand, and model/part number quoted and provide a description in sufficient detail to show that the product quoted meets the brand name identified -- If the end product(s) quoted is other than domestic end product(s) as defined in the clause entitled ''Buy American Act -- Supplies,'' the quoter shall so state and shall list the country of origin -- -- The quoter shall state in their quote their size status for this procurement as well as whether they are minority or woman-owned -- The SIC ode and the size standard for this procurement are 3567 and 500 employees respectively -- The quoter shall identify place of performance in their quote-- Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing -- Transmission by facsimile to 205-544-9080 or by Internet e-mail to ken.smith@msfc.nasa.gov is acceptable -- Quotations (including Representations and Certifications that may be obtained via the internet at ''http://procure.msfc.nasa.gov/proc_ref.html'' or at ''ftp://procure.msfc.nasa.gov/reps_certs/sats/'') are due 20 days after publication of this notice in the Commerce Business Daily (CBD) to the address specified above to the attention of ken smith/GP22-J -- Selection and award will be made on an aggregate basis to the lowest priced, technically acceptable quoter -- Technical acceptability will be determined by information submitted by the quoter providing a description in sufficient detail to show that the product quoted meets the Government's requirement -- The period of time expected for the Contracting Officer to solicit/evaluate vendor quotes and issue the purchase order will be approximately 30 days from publication of this notice in the CBD -- This procurement is a total small business set-aside -- This solicitation and any related documents to this procurement will be available over the Internet -- These documents will be in ASCII format and reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using client browsers, such as, MOSAIC -- The WWW address, or URL, of the MSFC Procurement home page is: ''http://procure.msfc.nasa.gov''.
