The subject document is a Request for Information (RFI) to determine the method of acquisition for Operational Rations which will best accomplish the peacetime acquisition of assembled/unitized rations and guarantee the continued presence of an industrial capacity base sufficient to meet crisis requirements, at the lowest cost to the Government. The RFI proposes a long-term, integrated acquisition of several assembled rations and components. All responsible sources may submit their comments regarding this approach as well as alternative approaches which will be considered by the Agency in developing the final acquisition plan and solicitation.
