The work involves the construction of a 22,000 square foot one story Education/Vocation Building and miscellaneous site improvements at the Whitney Young Job Corps Center. The building will be constructed on a sloping site which will require the removal of some trees. The building is masonry with masonry load bearing walls, engineered wood trusses roofing system with fiberglass shingles. A variety of interior finishes will be provided in the building. The HVAC system consists of a combination of fan coil units, unit ventilators, and single zone air handling units. Site utility work includes connections to the existing sewer and water main system. The time estimated for construction is 280 calendar days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range for construction is between $1 million to $5 million. Plans and specification will be available on or about October 13, 1995, from the office of Potter and Cox Architects, Suite 800, Meidinger Tower, Louisville, Kentucky 40202. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-Bid walk-through is scheduled for October 25, 1995 at 2:00 P.M., local time.
