15 -- JOINT TACTICAL UAV (HUSNTER)- COMMON AUTOMATED RECOVERY SYSTEM POC Contact, Tracey Lee Logan, Phone (703)604-0903 NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND intends to negotiate a cost type contract with TRW, Inc., Avionics and Surveillance Group, One Rancho Carmel, San Diego, CA 92128, for the integration of a protype Common Automated Recovery System (CARS) into a shipboard variation of a Joint Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (JTUAV)(Hunter) system for testing. This effort will include ground and flight testing, ship installation and integration, at sea demonstration, validation of a shipboard autorecovery simulation, and preparation of an engineering change proposal. Period of performance will be during early 1996. TRW is the integrator of the JTUAV (Hunter) system and the only known firm with the knowledge and technical data to integrate CARS within the requisite time frame.
