20361-2140 16 -- RADOME ANTENNA TEST SYSTEM MAINTENANCE AND TECHNICAL SERVICES

(NAVAIR) intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on behalf of the
Spanish Air Force (SAF) for maintenance and technical services. The
anticipated effort will support the SAF Radome Antenna Test System
(RATS) which is used by the SAF to test the F-1 Antenna and the EF-18
Radome, located in Albacete, Spain. The anticipated effort will include
one year of maintenance support, including all engineering and
logistics support and repair services. NAVAIR intends to negotiate this
procurement on a sole-source basis with Scientific-Atlanta (S-A), 3845
Pleasantdale Rd., Atlanta, GA, 30340-4266 the designer, developer, and
sole manufacturer of the RATS device. S-A is the only known firm
possessing the technical knowledge, expertise, and detailed familiarity
with the design and modifications of the RATS device which is required
to provide the requiring activity with timely development and
integration of the required services and supplies. See note No. 22 -
