The option will be exercised under the existing contract N00019-95-C-0104 with General Electric, the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the T700-GE-401B engine. General Electric is the only firm with the knowledge, experience, and technical data to fulfill the requirement within the time frame necessary to meet the aircraft delivery schedule.
