Akers,81 6/926-5317 Invitation for Bid Notice for Switchgear and Transformer Replacement, Federal Center, 4300 Goodfellow Boulevard, St. Louis, Missouri. JOB PCN RMO96070. IFB o/a 10/19/95. Estimated Cost Range: $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Time for completion: 450 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. No document charge or deposit is required. Project involves: Providing all materials and labor to replace four (4) 7500 kVA transformers, four (4) 34.5 kV circuit breakers and two line-ups of 15 kV switchgear in substations 108A and 108B. Mineral oil and PCB oil are present. Properly dispose of dielectric fluid and transformer carcasses, and remediate oil contamination. Properly dispose of contaminated materials. Option No. 1: Provide architectural work for both substations, including but not limited to tuck pointing, painting, replacing downspouts and gutter, and roof replacement. Option No. 2: Replace the existing incandescent light fixtures with fluorescent fixtures, replace light switches and conductors from the light fixtures to the branch panels. Option No. 3: Provide a rented 1000 kW standby generator and ancillary equipment to supply emergency power to Building 103, 2nd floor computer facility during construction work on the substations. Provide required ancillary equipment for automatic transfer. The bidder or subcontractor performing the roofing work and/or PCB removal work shall meet special competency requirements and provide bodily injury liability insurance coverage written on the comprehensive form of policy of at least $500,000 per occurrence. Such coverage must encompass liabilities arising from work with hazardous materials involved. The Government will not indemnify against such risks.
