Printing (BEP) maintains interest in testing counterfeit deterrent
features for potential future use in U. S. currency. The BEP will
evaluate selected features for effectiveness, durability, compatibility
with prospective designs and compatibility with present currency
production and processing. The BEP's interest is in all types of
products, including visible and machine-detectable features, as well as
features to facilitate currency use by those with low vision or
blindness. Features may indlude, but are not limited to, inks, paper
additives, design elements and laminated features. Offerors seeking
specifications may request the following: BEP Specification I:TCGB-1a
Inks: Typrographic, COPE Green and Black; I:ICWC-1a Ink: Intaglio,
Cylinder Wipe Currency; P:D-1K Paper: Distinctive; P:DST-2d Paper:
Distinctive with Security Threads. For initial screening purposes,
interested vendors are requested to submit preliminary samples and/or
brief technical descriptions (1-2 paragraphs), plus cost information
for the purpose of larger test quantities to the Bureau of Engraving &
Printing Attn: Ronnetta Purvis. Larger quantities of samples that are
of interest to the BEP may be procured as small purchases for further
evaluation. Vendors are requested not to resubmit samples offered
under earlier solicitations or previous testing of counterfeit
