Provide one Type III helicopter (less than 6,000 pounds) with pilot and service vehicle with driver for initial attack fire suppression; prescribed burning; and other administrative use during the period January 22 - March 21, 1996 (60 calendar days). The contract will be for one year and will provide for two additional option years which may be exercised by the Government. Sixty-five (65) hours of flight time are guaranteed for the 60-day period. The helicopter is to be based at the Pineville LA Municipal Airport located on US Highway 71/167, Pineville, LA (Rapides Parish). Fuel is located at Esler Regional Airport, approx. 10 miles away. Standard Forest Service fire fighting equipment is required. Some equipment required is: collapsible water bucket; 9600 channel radio; foam suppressant mixing equipment; global positioning system (GPS) receiver and indicator.)
