The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, and supervision necessary to construct an off-site water main extension for the South Bay International Wastewater Treatment Plant. The work includes installation of 16'' and 20'' water main pipe, including clearing and grubbing; excavation; backfill; crushed rock bedding; piping, valves, fittings, and appurtenances; slope hydroseeding; directional drilling across the Tijuana River; and a backflow prevention facility. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. The estimated range of construction is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Tentative dates for issuing and opening IFB 95-08 are October 17, 1995 and December 1, 1995, respectively. Contract performance is scheduled at 180 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. Plans will be available for inspection at the International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section, The commons, Bldg. C, Suite 311, El Paso, Texas 79902. Copies of the bid package are available at no charge. All requests for bid documents must be made in writing; no telephone or facsimile requests will be accepted. Requests for the bid documents must be sent to the preceding address, Attn: Pamela Ahrens, and must be received by October 12, 1995 in order to ensure availability of bid documents. Limited copies will be available after that date and will be issued on a first-come first-serve basis. This requirement is a 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The applicable SIC code for this procurement is 1623.
