The Navy plans, through limited competition, to solicit offers for torpedo systems engineering, development, and integration culminatining in thirty-five (35) Lightweight Hybrid Torpedo (LHT) Engineering Development Models, associated installation and technical support, turnaround kits, and support equipment. RFP N00024-96-R-6100 will be issued to Alliant Techsystems Inc., Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Hughes Aircraft Company, and Lockheed-Martin. As a result of a Special Announcement published in the CBD on 13 January 1995, these sources were determined to possess the level of torpedo systems expertise needed to develop the LHT. A draft RFP is scheduled to be released in early November 1995. The formal RFP is scheduled to be released in December 1995. (0275)
