acquire Corporate Computing Systems for the National Institutes of
Health (NIH). This contract will augment, upgrade, replace, maintain
and support existing IBM MVS and VM mainframe hardware systems and
their components to improve functionality, add new features, and
enhance system capacity for the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Division of Computer Research and Technolgy (DCRT), Bethesda, MD. This
acquisition is also to acquire open system processor complexes that
are compliant with FIPS 151-2, POSIX, Portable Operating Systems
Interface for Computer Environments and FIPS 189, Part 2 POSIX,
Portable Operating System Interface Part 2: Shell and Utilities. Full
maintenance and support of all hardware and software will be required
to maintain performance and cost effectiveness, to take advantage of
newly available funtionality, and to permit equipment resizing as
appropriate. This contract also includes requirements for contractor
support of the supply, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of
hardware and software, documentation, training, integration, and other
services required to support the corporate computing environment
within NIH. A firm-fixed-price, fixed-price with economic price
adjustment for labor intensive items, fixed-term lease to ownership
with option to purchase (LWOP) at any time prior to the term of the
lease, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity type contract is
planned. An eight year total contract life (five years for ordering
supplies, services and maintenance and three additional one year
options for ordering services and maintenance) is planned. A Draft
Request for Proposal (RFP) will be provided to industry on or about
October 31, 1995. The Government will not distribute printed copies of
the Draft RFP. A printed copy is available at FEDCAC for inspection.
Inspection of the draft RFP will be by appointment only. Contact

RFP at their own expense. A list of copying service companies in the
area will be provided. The Draft RFP will be available to industry

can be accessed through a computer modem, 24 hours per day, by calling
617/274-0500. Use the standard settings of N-8-1 at any baud from 300
