notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6.

(IAA). 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or
CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers
may be provided in addition, where applicable): Electrical appliances
and materials. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document:
Revision of the ``Guidelines for Type Approval and Follow-up
Supervision of Imported Electrical Appliances and Materials''
(available in Korean, 37 pages). 6. Description of content: The IAA
revises the above-mentioned guidelines as follows: Integrating relevant
provisions on imported electrical appliances, which were previously
scattered in various regulations, into the guidelines. Increasing the
coverage of type approval exemption: if imported electrical appliances
are for self-consumption, importers are not required to get type
approval confirmation from the Chairman of the Korean Electrical
Appliances Safety Control Association. Loosening follow-up supervision
criteria on importers. Introducing a new obligation for
importers/sales agents to submit test records of imported products to
the Administrator of the IAA within 50 days of customs clearance of the
imported products. 7. Objective and rationale: To facilitate the import
of electrical appliances and materials and to ensure consumer safety.
