Lockheed Martin Energy Systems, acting for and on behalf of the U.S. Government as represented by the U.S. Department of Energy under its Prime Contract No. DE-AC05-84OR21400, is offering for sale at fixed prices U.S. Government-owned inventories of Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate until February 26, 1996. These inventories consist of 7 million pounds of virgin material located at Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and 18 million pounds of processed material which is depleted in the lithium six (6) isotope and located at Portsmouth, Ohio. The Oak Ridge virgin material is available for eighteen and three tenths cents (18.3 cents) per pound; the Portsmouth processed material is available for thirteen cents (13 cents) per pound. Purchased materials must be removed by June 30, 2001, FOB shipping point. In August 1995, Lockheed Martin Energy Systems sold quantities at the above stated prices to the following: Cyprus Foote Mineral Company for approximately 16 million pounds of virgin material; and, ToxCo, Incorporated for approximately 44 million pounds of processed material. Purchasers must certify having sufficient knowledge of chemical and physical characteristics, of the regulations governing its use, discharges or hazards, complete understanding of responsibilities and requirements to accept the material and possess a suitable facility, licensed if necessary under applicable law, to process or possess the material at the time of purchase. Offers to purchase quantities at the prices specified herein, must be received no later than close of business (COB) on February 26, 1996. All sales contracts will be executed by March 29, 1996. Awards of available quantities will be made using an apportionment method to all purchasers based upon quantities requested. Any material not sold by this sale, will be sold to the above-named companies with material previously sold in August 1995.
