The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, and equipment for reroofing the shop and warehouse buildings for the Repair Shops, Warehouse, and Layup Facilities in Warren County, Mississippi. Principal features of the work include: remove and dispose of six (6) existing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HV/AC) units at the shop building, including metal bases, base flashings, and other materials; disposing of three (3) of the existing mechanical openings for the HV/AC units, including removal of existing curbs and materials necessary to install new metal decking for the closure of the openings and make watertight until time of roofing; modify the three remaining mechanical openings to accommodate new ventilating fans by reducing their size, provide temporary watertight covers for the openings to provide worker safety and structure protection until time of reroofing and fan installation, closing the openings left in the roof by their reduction with new metal decking and make watertight until time of roofing; remove and retain, for remounting upon completion of reroofing; existing aluminum gravel guard and fascia (heavy metal edging); remove and dispose of existing built-up roofing system from warehouse and shop buildings; inspection and possible replacement of roof edge (perimeter) blocking at both buildings; remove two (2) pitch pockets at penetrations of roofing associated with two (2) existing HV/AC units at the shop building and refurbish two (2) pitch pockets of existing stairs at the shop building; reroofing of buildings with modified bitumen roofing system; and install three (3) new Government furnished ventilating fans at the shop building.
