The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to install a new central HVAC system, including the extension of central system piping from the nearby General Mail Facility, new HVAC equipment, ductwork and remodeling of existing systems. A new central system mechanical room and associated structural and electrical elements are included in the work, according to plans and specifications contained in the solicitation package. Drawings and specifications contain further definition of the scope of work. The estimated cost range is between $520,000 and $580,000, with a construction completion date of 150 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Award is anticipated in late November 1995, with a Notice to Proceed date of January 2, 1996. An informal preproposal conference/walk-through is scheduled for 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 1995, convening in the east end lobby, 100 South First Street.
