correction to the previous CBD announcement issued 18 Sept 1995. The
Naval Research Laboratory is conducting a program of X-ray and
materials research. This program consists of work on several currently
important aspects of x-ray physics, materials physics, and
radiation-material interactions. The work includes (a) the development
and analysis of radiation sources, (b) the effects of laser radiation
and x-rays on materials and components, (c) the use of
radiation-material interactions to characterize existing materials
under various conditions and to guide the development of new materials
and material processing methods, and (d) the application of
theoretical-computational methods, including electronic structure and
molecular dynamics calculations. The contractor shall perform work in
the area of design, performance, and reporting of experimental work,
the performance and reporting of theoretical studies, and the
development, operation, and maintenance of radiation sources,
instrumentation, and computational facilities. The period of
performance for the base efforts is 12 months with two 12 month
options. This is a 100% Small Business set aside. Requests for
