Chris Paddock, Contracting Officer This announcement is released to
modify the NSW RIB requirement published in the August 14, 1995 issue
of the CBD under solicitation USZA22-95-R-0045. This modification
alters six sentences in the original synopsis, and delineates the
solicitation issuance procedures. Offerors should assume that any
sentences not altered by this synopsis modification still apply to this
requirement. The modification follows: (1) The USSOCOM requirement
includes an estimated fifty-four (54) NSW RIBs, fifty-four (54)
trailers, twenty-seven (27) Detachment Deployment Packages (DDP), plus
provisions for additional replacement craft thereafter. (2) Offerors
must have a proven, mature design in that the parent craft must have
been built and operated in the water, and the proposed craft rigid hull
shall not deviate by more than ten percent in length and beam from the
parent craft. (3) Period I, a full and open, unrestricted competition
will result in the award of at least two contracts for one test
article each to be delivered twenty-two weeks after award. (4) The
anticipated quantity is an estimated fifty-four boats. (5) Delete in
its entirety, ''The required delivery rate capability of two per month
must be clearly demonstrated by the contractor.'' and replace with,
''The offeror must have recently (since January 1991) demonstrated its
capability to build craft of equal or greater complexity at production
rates similar to that anticipated in the contract.'' (6) The
anticipated release date for the formal RFP is October 25, 1995, with
the due date approximately seventy-two (72) days thereafter. (7)
Solicitation issuance procedures: The Government will issue the RFP in
one of three ways to each offeror - (1) Offeror can pick up at SOCOM
(MacDill AFB, Building 102, 2nd floor), (2) Government will mail (first
class mail), or (3) Government will mail overnite if offeror provides
its account number. Each offeror who responded to the August 14
synopsis must notify one of the above POCs of its preference NLT COB
October 18, 1995 (FAX (813) 840-5481 or phone request is acceptable).
If no response is receive, the Government will mail the RFP
first-class. The RFP (less attachments) will also be issued on the
SOCOM Electronic Bulletin Board (EBB Telephone number: (813) 840-5578;
Data bits: 8; Stop bits: 1; Parity: None; BAUD: 2400 or greater;
