DynCorp Information and Engineering Technology (DynCorp), under
contract to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is
evaluating ISDN technologies and equipment including voice and
voice/data terminal devices (telephones), remote node and remote
control telecommuting solutions, videoconferencing, host computer
access, and LAN connectivity. As part of this evaluation process,
DynCorp wishes to test and demonstrate ISDN products in its Technology
Lab. Test results will be used only for EPA purposes. All products
will be screened to ensure that equipment meets EPA requirements and
tested to evaluate the functionality and compatibility of products in
the EPA environment. Product demonstrations may be given to the EPA
user community and management to obtain their feedback. DynCorp is
seeking vendors who would like to submit their products for evaluation
and demonstration. Interested vendors are advised of the following
conditions to which they will be asked to agree in writing prior to
acceptance of a product by DynCorp: 1) All equipment to support the
application to be evaluated or demonstrated must interface to an ISDN
Basic Rate Interface ``T'' or ``U'' interface on AT&T 5ESS and Northern
Telecom DMS-100 switches; 2) Vendors must provide information on any
special line provisioning required for installation of the product; 3)
The product must be (a) standalone unit(s) (hardware and/or software)
with all appropriate cabling necessary to connect the ISDN BRI line;
4) All relevant product specifications including information on
applications in an ISDN environment and a contract person to discuss
the applications must be provided; 5) Use of the equipment during the
demonstration/evaluation period is at no charge to the Government or
DynCorp and the vendor is responsible for any other charges including
installation/deinstallation, technical support and services calls,
shipping and handling; 6) Products must be commercially available for
procurement by the Government or DynCorp and any subsequent purchase of
ISDN equipment for use the EPA would be subject to all FAR, FIRMR, and
EPAAR regulations; 7) The Government is not obligated to procure any
product as a result of vendor participation in this program; 8) Vendors
must state when and how long the ISDN products are available for
demonstration so the lab can schedule testing and provide advance
notice to potential Government users; 9) Final determination of
products to be accepted for testing will be solely the responsibility
of DynCorp; 10) Neither the Government nor DynCorp is obligated to
provide written or oral reports on the findings of the evaluation.
Interested vendors may send or fax product and contact information to
the above address or fax number. No phone calls please. (278) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0226 19951010\58-0008.SOL)
