-- Operation and Routine Maintenance Support of the Ancillary Systems
of the National Transonic Facility. In order that potential sources may
learn of interest in a specific requirement, an advanced notice is
published here. The NASA National Transonic Facility (NTF) is a
continuous flow wind tunnel used by the Government and industry to
perform aerodynamic research and development studies. The tunnel
operates over a pressure range from 1 to 9 atms, a temperature range
from -250F to +150F and a Mach number range of 0.2 to 1.2. The facility
is capable of operating in a cryogenic (gaseous nitrogen test medium)
or in a warm (air test medium) mode. Facility operation is centered
around energy efficiency and high productivity. Operation is on a
two-shift basis. Services will be required for operation and routine
maintenance of this tunnel. A detailed description of the NTF can be

plus-fixed-fee task order contract is contemplated with a total
potential period of performance of 66 months. The period of performance
will include a 1-year base period, four 1-year option periods, and six
1-month option periods. Anticipated contract start date is June 22,
1996. Work will be assigned via performance-based task orders. Firms
having the capabilities described above are invited to submit complete
information to NASA LaRC Industry Assistance Office, Mail Stop 144,
Hampton, VA 23681-0001. Information should include: (a) The total
number of employees and professional qualifications of personnel
specifically qualified in the areas outlined above, (b) contracts
performed or being performed in the above-stated areas (provide
contract number, points of contact, telephone number, etc.), (c)
current financial statements (Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
Statement), (d) Capability Statement and (e) any other available
descriptive literature. This synopsis is form information and planning
purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government
nor will the Government pay for any information solicited. Respndents
will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents
deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resulting solicitation
for the requirement. Firms responding should indicate whether they are
a socially or economically disadvantaged business firm, an 8(a) firm,
a small business, and/or woman-owned business. The Government reserves
the right to consider small business set-aside or 8(a) set-aside based
on responses hereto. The SIC code for this procurement is 8099 and the
small business size standard is $5.0M in average annual receipts for
the previous 3 years. Closing date for submission of responses is 14
