Edwards Air Force Base is seeking sources for a single airborne pod based test set that will be used to fly an infrared focal plane array (FPA). Provisions shall be made to install the FPA in any one of three locations so that the FPA is looking forward, out the side, and aft, when pod is installed on the aircraft. The pod must be compatible with F-15 and QF-4 aircraft, must be certified airworthy, and be completely self contained except for power. There must be provision for encrypted telemetry (S-band) of data from the pod to the ground and uplink for pod power and instrumentation control. The pod must derive all power required from 28 VDC aircraft power and must include a DCRsi 107 recorder, inertial navigation set, pod cooling, power distribution unit, TM transmitter and receiver, encrypter, and a pod electronics unit that interfaces the system under test with the data recorder and telemetry. Delivery of asset must not be later than 1 Feb 97 must be accompanied by delivery of data items as described in a tailored DI-E-3115B. Post delivery of asset must be accompanied by 30 weeks of on-site maintenance, flight test planning, and data reduction.
