Ondrovic, (516)282-4553 Established in 1947, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is a multi disciplinary laboratory situated on 5300 acres on the eastern end of Long Island, New York. BNL is managed by Associated Universities, Inc. (AUI) under contract, No. DE AC02-76CH00016, with the U. S. Department of Energy and carries out basic and applied research in the physical, biomedical and environmental sciences and in selected energy technologies. AUI is a non-profit, research management organization sponsored by nine universities. BNL's annual budget is approximately 400 million dollars and its facilities are valued at a replacement cost in excess of 2.8 billion dollars. The Laboratory employs approximately three thousand people and hosts approximately four thousand guest scientists and students a year. In order to properly manage this budget, staff and visitor population, BNL is planning to replace its current accounting and financial management system with an off-the-shelf integrated client server suite of financial software packages that interact with a relational database and runs in a Unix or Windows NT environment. The suite of packages should include the following modules: General Ledger, Purchasing Job Cost, Labor Cost Distribution, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Budgeting, Revenue Management, Project Accounting, Ppayroll and Human Resources. Brookhaven is seeking a firm that has demonstrated ability providing and supporting financial software packages, and which can provide references that have successfully had the major components of such an integrated suite of financial packages installed and operating at client facilities. This procurement is expected to result in an award of one order for the software, installation and initial support on or about January 1, 1996. RFP 599040 will be available on or about November 1, 1995.
