A -- ENHANCED FIBER OPTIC GUIDED MISSILE (EFOGM) COMMAND, CONTROL, AND INTELLIGENCE (C2I) ENHANCEMENT SOL DAAH01-96-R-A101 DUE 112795 POC Mr. John Boylan, (205) 876-7497/AMSMI-AC-CAD/Contracting Officer (PCA). Synopsis Number 0591-95. In support of the U.S. Army's Rapid Force Projection Initiative (RFPI), this Command plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about 27 Oct 95 on a sole source basis to Raytheon Company, 180 Hartwell Road, New Bedford, MA 01730 for additional effort under a modification to the EFOGM Demonstration Program Contract DAAH01-95-C-A001 to incorporate platoon leader's vehicle (PLV) software interfaces with the Close Combat and Fire Support systems through the EFOGM Company Commander located at the Brigade Tactical Operations Center. Funds are not presently available for this acquisition. No contract award will be made until appropriated funds are made available from which payment for contract purposes can be made. This research and development effort is expected to require approximately 12 months of Raytheon Company effort, which will commence under Contract Line Item Number (CLIN 0001) of the existing contract and be completed under option CLIN 0003 (if exercised) of the existing contract. Technical data will not be provided with the RFP, and will not be made available. Raytheon Company is the EFOGM prime contractor under the existing contract and is responsible for the design, development, fabrication, and delivery of all EFOGM hardware/software. As required by that contract, the system design is constantly evolving. Raytheon Company is the only source which can integrate the required new capability into the system at this time. Those firms interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with this acquisition should contact Raytheon Company directly.
