Concerns having the ability to furnish the data described herein are requested to give written notification (including telephone for a point of contact) to the procuring office above within forty-five (45) calendar days from the date of this synopsis. Satellite systems required: (1) SPOT; (2) Landsat Thematic Mapper; (3) Russian KVR-1000; (4) Russian TK-350; (5) Japanese JERS-1; (6) Indian IRS, and (7) Canadian Radarsat. Salient data/services characteristics: (1) multi- spectral and/or panchromatic satellite imagery data; (2) acquisition programming for global coverage; (3) timely delivery. Based on information available at this time, and in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government considers the items specified as a dual sole source from SPOT Image Corporation, Reston, Virginia, and Earth Observation Satellite Company (EOSAT), Lanham, Maryland, and proposed to negotiate a contract with those firms on that basis. However, should additional sources be identified, they will be considered. Firms who feel that they can furnish the required data and services or their functional equivalent (based upon the criteria specified herein) are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other material which correspond to the required items stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Since no solicitation document exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information will be considered non-responsive to this request without further conderation.
