intends to place a firm-fixed price (supply) contract for a quantity of
eight (8) Skirt Weldment Assemblies manufactured per NAVORD drawing #
3180818. These assemblies are utilized by helicopters as part of an
at-sea torpedo recovery system. A sample skirt assembly is available
for prospective contractor inspection at NUWC Division Newport. NUWC
will provide a full set of drawings as well as a NUWC specification
entitled ''Technical Requirements'' with the solicitation package. Some
GFE will be provided for incorporation into end products. The
successful contractor will be required to submit sample weldments as a
baseline for inspection of all welds. The Government will furnish a
''Barcol Hardness Tester'' for testing purposes. Upon completion of
acceptance testing, delivery of the skirt assemblies will be to the
NUWC East Davisville site in North Kingston RI. Shipping requirements
include crate dimensions not to exceed 90'' wide by 127'' long by 48''
high. Delivery schedule shall be within 90 days after award. Partial
shipments will be accepted. 100% Set-Aside for Small Business. The
applicable SIC Code is3499. The Solicitation is expected to close no
earlier than 2:00 p.m. on 15 November 1995. All responsible sources may
submit an offer which will be considered. Requests must be made in
writing, specifying solicitation number. Telephone requests will not be
