(DEC) Disk controller, disk drive, and tape P/N's SW812-CA 36GB, RZ28B/HSJ4, Tape Package 60HZ; 0002 DEC Disk controller and tape drive, P/N's HSR95-GA, HSR95-SA, and RZ28 starter 120V 3P-3; 0003 Optical drive, P/N RRD43-VC CDROMS-3, 2- Speed, 5.25'' carrier. SALIENT CHARACTERSTICS: The items must be completely compatible with the existing DEC VAX and communicate with the VMS VAX Cluster software over the Computer Interconnect (CI) bus. Item 0001 must be able to accept existing DEC BA350 SCSI- 2 modular shelves. The cabinet for housing these modular shelves must be able to support up to 20 shelves with up to four TZ8n backup tape and magazine tape subsystems. The new cabinet must have 6 BA350 modular shelves with 18 2.1 Gbyte disk drive so they can accept or be interchanged with existing disk drives. It must have 2 hsc scsi disk controllers that support VAX VMS cluster software over the Computer Interconnect (CI) bus. The cabinet must have electronic temperature sensing automatically matching air flow to cooling requirements and include a power distribution unit supporting up to 24 BA350 SCSI-2 modular shelves. The BA350 SCSI-2 modular shelves must be able to accept DWZZA scsi signal converters and be able to be connected to a HSC95 to provide dual port capabilities. All modular disk drives must be able to be removed and installed without turning off the subsystem or individual shelf power. Item 0002 must be able to accept existing DEC BA350 SCSI-2 modular shelves. The cabinet for housing thes modular shelves must be able to support up to 8 shelves and two rackmountable HSC95's. The HSC95 is required so it will accept existing HSC95X-SX SCSI data channel cards and existing sdi/sti data channel cards. The new cabinet must have 2 BA350 modular shelves with 12 2.1Gbyte RZ28B-VA disk drive so they can accept or be interchange with existing disk drives. All modular disk drives must be able to be removed and installed without turning off the subsystem or individual shelf power. Item 0003 must be three dual-speed CDROM drives mounted in a single 5.25 inch building block that can be mounted in a DEC BA350 SCSI-2 modular shelf.
