COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF OCTOBER 17,1995 PSA#1453Defense Nuclear Agency, 6801 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22310-3398 A -- B-52H WEAPON SYSTEM SAFETY ASSESSMENT POC Gerald Huthoefer,
Negotiator, (703) 325-1190, Edward Archer, Contracting Officer, (703)
325-5028. The DOD/DOE Joint Surety Plan requires that a B-52 Weapon
System Safety Assessment (WSSA) be performed. The WSSA quantifies the
probability of plutonium dispersal during the stockpile-to-target
sequence for all nuclear weapons deliverable by the B-52H strategic
bomber. The WSSA of the B-52H and associated nuclear weapons has
evolved as it has progressed and the new tasks required for this effort
are refinements to improve the efficiency and completeness of the
Probability Risk Assessment (PRA) process. The Defense Nuclear Agency
(DNA) plans to award a sole source contract to PLG, Inc. under
DNA001-92-C-0195. DNA believes that PLG, Inc. is the only source
possessing the existing technical expertise to meet this program
requirement within the time required DNA available funding. Any other
firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to
perform this requirement. See Note 22. Faxed requests are acceptable
and shall be faxed to the attention of Gerald W. Huthoefer at (703)
325-9291. If the request is faxed, no hard copy is required.
Information on DNA solicitations already released, can be obtained by
calling the DNA Hotline at (703) 325-1173. Reference Synopsis No. 96-02
