RUSSIAL, (215)697-9678 Synopsis #540 which appeared in the CBD on 28 Aug 95 is hereby amended as follows: FISC Norfolk Detachment Philadelphia intends to procure maintenance services for the following diagnostic computed tomography system: PICKER PREMIER, comprised of the following components - (1)Gantry - Mfr: Picker, Model# 17175A; (2)Table - Mfr: Picker, Model# 171850-A; (3)Multi-Imager 10 - Mfr: Matrix Instruments, Model# 60-20-0415 and (4)Console - Mfr: Picker, Model# 174550-A. Maintenance for the PICKER PREMIER shall be provided at Naval Submarine Support Facility New London Naval Hospital (Radiology Department), Groton, CT 06349. All manufacturer software and safety updates are to be provided and installed to keep the equipment from becoming obsolete. Furthermore, the contractor must be able to provide diagnostic software for trouble shooting in order to identify system faults alleviating extended equipment down time. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one (1) source, Picker International, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Picker International is the original equipment manufacturer who thus retains the sole rights to their computed tomography diagnostic software. Picker is the only firm with the complete knowledge of how the computed tomography system is designed, including its internal mechanical properties and operating requirements, thus ensuring minimum system downtime. Services are to commence 01 January 95 through 30 September 1996, with three (3) twelve month option provisions. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement of submit proposals. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS AS INITIALLY INDICATED IN SYNOPSIS #540. However, all proposals received within forty-five (45) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
