remove and replace roll-up doors, at USCG Station Jones Beach,
Freeport, NY (Nassau County). Work includes removal of existing 22' x
26' west bay door, brick in opening for a new 12' x 12' bay door,
remove and replace 22' x 26' east bay door, install four (4) new
concrete filled steel pipe bollard, and related incidental work.
Duration of this contract will be 75 days. SIC code is 1541. Estimated
cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. Simplified
Acquisition Procedures will be used in awarding this contract (i.e.,
request for written quotation). The anticipated award date is Dec 6,
1995. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation, which

Requests will be honored until supply is exhausted. This procurement is
being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration program and is open for bidding to both small and large
business concerns. INFORMATION PERTAINING TO MINORITY, WOMAN OWNED, AND
DISADVANTAGED ENTERPRISES: The Department of Transportation (DOT)
Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to
assist minority, woman-owned, and disadvantaged business enterprises
to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program
enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to
$1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the
DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to
provide accounts reeivable financing. The maximum line of credit is
