NETHERLANDS: OPERATIONS ORDER The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 95.290. 1. Member to Agreement notifying: NETHERLANDS. If applicable, name of local government involved (Articles 3.2 and 7.2): 2. Agency responsible: Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries. 3. Notified under Article 2.9.2. 4. Products covered (HS or CCCN where applicable, otherwise national tariff heading. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): Live animals. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Operations Order. 6. Description of content: The Operations Order stipulates the type of operations which are permitted on animals whereby part or parts of the body are removed or injured. The Order implements Article 40 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act (as yet not entered into force) which specifies that animal operations other than those expressly listed shall be banned. This Article and the present Order shall enter into effect simultaneously. 7. Objective and rationale: Improvement of animal welfare. 8. Relevant documents: Animal Health and Welfare Act. 9.
