Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to issue a Request
for Proposal (RFP) during the last quarter of calendar year 1995 for
the planned FY 97, FY 98, FY 99 and FY 00 procurements of T406-AD-400
engines for Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and related services and
supplies, for the V-22 aircraft. NAVAIRSYSCOM intends to award an
Advanced Acquisition Contract (AAC) for the FY 97 procurement in the
first quarter of CY 96 utilizing FY 96 advance funds. Priced options
for FY 98, FY 99 and FY 00 are planned to be added to the FY 97
contract in the third quarter of CY 96. The LRIP quantities procured
will be for such engines necessary to equip the V-22 aircraft
quantities authorized by Congress plus spare engines necessary for
support purposes, and the related supplies and services necessary for
the manufacture and initial support of the engines. Such supplies and
support consist of administrative, financial and technical data,
production engineering support, reliability and maintainability,
quality assurance, requalification support. Integrated logistics
support, technical manuals, spare and repair parts, opsec, support
systems performance requirements logistics support analysis, contractor
engineering technical services, training, hazardous and environmental
management plus other miscellaneous areas. Allison Engine Company is
the designer, developer and sole producer of the T406-AD-400 engine.
