Corps Systems Command has a requirement for a base quantity of 7 each,
with an option for an additional quantity of approximately 15 each,
commercially available Dynamometer Systems to facilitate the testing
and run-in of reciprocating piston, internal combustion, diesel engines
having outputs from 50 brake horsepower up to and including 1600 brake
horsepower (at a minimum) at speeds up to 4000 revolutions per minute.
The dynamometer is intended to be used for fault diagnosis, adjustment
and qualification of engines repaired at fourth echelon facilities and
in field deployment situations. The more important features of the
system are ease/quickness of set-up, accuracy in testing the full range
of engines with a minimal amount of operator adjustment/manipulating of
controls, durability, ease of maintenance, portabilty/configuration,
and conservation of water. The Dynamometer testing system shall have
+/- 1.5% accuracy through the entire range of its testing capability.
It is the Marine Corps intent to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract.
Based on responses from industry to the CBD announcement of August 15,
1995, ''Potential Sources Sought'', this acquisition is a 100% small
business set-aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for
this acquisition is 3823 (500 employees). When responding to this
