G -- SOCIAL SERVICES, VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION ASSISTANCE SERVICES SOL RFP 662-05-96 DUE 121595 POC Contracting Officer, Gary Adkins, (415)750-2066 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, located at 4150 Clement Street, San Francisco, California 94121, is seeking vocational rehabilitation assistance services to sponsor disabled veterans in order to prepare the veteran for gainful employment in a specific occupational area. The contractors Rehabilitation Assistance Service Specialists will be responsible for providing educational and vocational guidance while also monitoring all training services of the Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation Service. All rehabilitation assistance service specialists are required to meet the following requirements; (1) Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work Service or other closely related field and one year experience in providing direct vocational rehabilitation services to a wide variety of disabled clients; or (2) Bachelors Degree with certification from one of the following certifying bodies: Commission of Rehabilitation Counseling Certification, Licensed Professional Counselor Certification, National Board of Certified Counselors and American Counsel of Social Workers and three years experience in providing direct vocational rehabilitation services to a wide variety of disabled clients. (3) A thorough knowledge of the educational institutions within the area of jurisdiction, their programs and services. (4) A thorough knowledge of local community social services and employment resources. Multiple contract awards are anticipated for the following northern california counties: Alameda, Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, Contra Costa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Fresno, Glenn, Humboldt, Inyo, Kings, Lake, Lassen, Madera, Marin, Mariposa, Mendocino, Merced, Modoc, Monterey, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tulare, Tuolumne, Yolo and Yuba.
