Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) System, 256 processor system, 4K bytes local data memory per processor, 20 MHz clock rate, 5 Billion multiply/accumulates per second processing capability, 16 MBytes data storage, VME based chassis; 6-U form factor, DMA between File Memory and VME bus rate 40 MB per second minimum, Ethernet and RS- 232C interfaces, and software development environment including a parallel C Compiler, Assembler, Debugger, and a library supporting matrix algebra.
